About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being a simple, humble and helpful fellow, as such Gandhi, Thoreau, Stoicism and True and Pure Spirituality may refer.

ABOUT ME

For more about me, please also read MY REFERENCES.

Feminist, humanist, socialist, cosmopolitan, believer in Non-Violence (adame khoshoonat ya bi khoshoonati), fond of H.D. Thoreau, Tolstoi, and Gandhi's Thoughts, and Albert Schweitzer's Reverence For Life.

I love to promote this ideals among in-needs (incl. myself), vegetarian (with some violations every now and then), friend with nature, advocate of "Leave No Trace", "Leave It Better Than You found It" and "Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Or do without" morals, curious, helpful, easygoing, fond of Geography and NGS. Eager to travel and learn more of new people. familiar with harsh living, a child laborer in my childhood, advocate of Afghan immigrants' rights.

ABOUT ME:
I am Gholamali Keshani, born in 1956, Iranian, retired railway translator but
still an active worker of thoughts; fond of Mahatma Gandhi, Henri David Thoreau and his two masterpieces (Walden and Civil Disobedience), and about him (Just Enough Is Plenty), and Simone Weil Gabriel Marcel, Romain Rolland and Mostafa Malekian (Iranian teacher in Philosophy of Ethics). And before all: Non-Violence (My SITE is named after it, in Farsi as ADAMEKHOSHOONAT or عدم خشونت).

I have translated 2 books of Thoreau and on his thoughts (Civil Disobedience, Just Enough Is Plenty) and 2 books on Gandhi and his thoughts (Gandhi and Stalin; and Gandhi, a life) into Farsi, and published them for free in the internet, available for public Use, then in paper.

Translating selected books and texts (e.g. on Gandhi, Thoreau, ...) is my current business and hobby for free as a moral duty, for I am still in debt to all human beings and UNIVERSE.

PHILOSOPHY

SIMPLIFY, SIMPLIFY, SIMPLIFY (H.D. THOREAU), living a Simple, Humble, and Helpful life especially in service of the in-needs, such as child laborers, Afghan immigrants, and in accordance with "REVERENCE OF LIFE" and "SANCTITY OF LIFE" in "ALBERT SCHWIETZER" ideals and Socratic Critic and the Art of Dialogue.

Coming and going in and out of life is not in our hands control. it is a compulsion, but we can alleviate its evils through our endeavors to feel peace and hope and happiness in ourselves and perhaps make a change.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted some exceptional CouchSurfers who learned me a lot, such as BARBARA GRAF, PARVINIAN, ...
And also in September until October 2014 I joined Peace-Gulf (Dear Mr. Reza Memar) to have a 30 days round travel between two body of water in the North and the South of Iran. The journey's name was "From friendship Sea to Peace Gulf". We met many local CouchSurfers during it and had 13 Khayam Night events with them. The journey was very interesting for me and full of experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Meeting with new people and knowing something new, which upsides down our old attitudes and prejudices esp. nowadays through a new medium called COUCHSURFING EVENTS.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a teacher by NATURE.

Teach: translation,
Learn: any available good thing in my friends.
Our world is full of new things to get lessons , and to change our old courses, ...

Share: our harsh experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I offer to my host trust, reliable information and good advice and tips for pilgrimage in Iran, along with the best Hospitality (S)he can imagine

We live in a very cozy and friendly town (Hashtgerde Jadid), near Tehran (one hour far from Azadi Sq.),
Our neighborhood is the best part of the town, I have a flat there.

I have 4 excluded space in my house.
so it is easy to give one of them to our guest.

Matress spread on the surface of the clean carpet is usual in Middle East.

Not exactly a couch.
But clean mattress and blanket on the surface in two private rooms (as most of Iranians),

I have time to guide the surfer (as needed)
there is bus and metro lines to Tehran from our place.
There is countryside and many villages near us.
we can tolerate late sleeping.
ready every day in the week.
We can serve breakfast and perhaps more (but for 3 days only)
