* In addition to positive and negative experiences, we have situations where someone met someone
in real life but put "neutral" down for their quality of experience or did not leave a reference at all.
CouchSurfing is not about the furniture, not just about finding free accommodations around the
world; it's about making connections worldwide. We make the world a better place by opening our homes,
our hearts, and our lives. We open our minds and welcome the knowledge that cultural exchange makes available.
We create deep and meaningful connections that cross oceans, continents and cultures. CouchSurfing wants to change
not only the way we travel, but how we relate to the world!
- 516,997 available couches
- 46,826 close friendships due to CouchSurfing
- 1701002 positive experiences, which is an incredibly high 99.783 percent of all member experiences!
Real feedback:

View my profile | "I have met and stayed with some incredible people through CouchSurfing.com These are warm, friendly local people who a regular tourist would never meet, and their travel experience would be far richer if they had. Besides the obvious benefit of not having to pay for accommodation, CouchSurfing allows travellers to experience a country and its culture from within, instead of just as an observer. Inevitably, a CouchSurfing host will introduce you to his or her friends, and take you to the places that they enjoy. Basically, you can become part of their life for the time you're visiting. I promise your life will be richer through your membership to CouchSurfing." |

That was a few weeks ago, now I'm sure! In the 2 weeks leading up to my departure I hosted 2 young ladies from Dublin, and we had a pretty good time. They are full of adventure spirit and fun to be around. They went to burning man and came back to visit again afterwards, having a few hours I showed them a taste of wine country California. About the same time as their return visit I had been (trying) to host a German couple who traveled on a motorcycle from Texas to California. I helped them repair their bike and we had good times eating out doors, bbq's, motorcycle rides, swimming, drinking, etc..
Now I'm getting the best treatment imagineanable in Trinidad by TRINIDADSKY and her boyfriend NIVIN. I thanks them so much for watching my back and giving me the royal tour of their home island. It is a very eye opening experience for me and it couldn't have worked out any better.
I hope everyone will learn to open their doors, minds, and hearts to other people and cultures soon! Thank you couch surf and couch surfers and hosts!
