PERSONAL

Growing disillusionment with modern Western
I. corporate formality, environments and overall lifestyles,
II. extreme materialism/superficiality of too many in the city,
III. extremely polarized politics,
IV. plus being at the right age/timing,
led me to risk quitting my previous corporate job and travel the world for a bit, with the priority being exploring Asia - above all East Asia.

Update APR 25 - Am quite happy to be travelling in China at the moment, to close my trip.

06/04 - Just finished hiking Huashan. Awesome experience 🙏

Next:
07 to 09 - Xi'An;
09 to 11 - Yan'an;
12 to 18 - Beijing.

Quotes:

"Whoever doesn't learn from the past is doomed to repeat it."

"Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and destroy you at their game."

"May my son study history, for it is the only true philosophy and the only true psychology."

-------
PHILOSOPHY

Some very simple things:
I) The "Golden Rule" - Treat others how I would like to be treated;
II) Don't Overcomplicate things;
III) Open-Mindedness - with the exception of the Essential Moral Code which is the Base for everything I do (care for all other beings, don't lie, don't cheat, don't steal, etc);
IV) Be forgiving - Understanding that people can only give what they have inside of them.
V) Live in Harmony With Nature;
VI) Commitment to Truth, Righteousness and Dignity;
VII) Being ambitious, but not without caring about the means to achieve the ends.

IV) Played basketball with my host and visited a Buddhist monastery, including a delicious free vegetarian lunch, all at 2.700m altitude on a gorgeous part of Lijiang;
V) Hiked up and down HuaShan, where I got to stay overnight at a Taoist monastery - learning about Taoism and the monastic lifestyle, plus witnessed the mountain on the calmer hours of the night and of sunrise;
