Ich bin ein offener und hilfsbereiter junger Mann, der gerade den, wie viele meinen, merkwürdigsten Weg einschlagen will. Reisen, und das mit wenig Geld. Leute aus verschiedenen Teilen der Erde kennenlernen, auch wenn man nicht unbedingt ihre Sprache spricht. Generell bin ich nicht der Typ Mensch, der gerne Sprachen in der, gar nicht mal so entfernten Lebensabschnitt namens Schule, gelernt hat, aber sich jetzt mit Hilfe von Duolingo Spanisch beibringt (https://www.duolingo.com/ThadMei).
Auf diese Idee bin ich vor 2 Jahren zum ersten Mal gestoßen, damals war diese Idee eher als Traum gedacht, aber im Laufe der Zeit habe ich immer mehr gespürt, dass dies der Weg ist, den ich nach dem Abitur 2019 verfolgen möchte. Um zu schauen, ob ich realistische Vorstellungen vom Reisen habe, bin ich im Sommer 2018 per Anhalter rund 1700km getrampt (näheres dazu hier: https://www.hitchlog.com/nl/hitchhikers/taddel). Das Resultat der kurzen 12 Tägigen Reise lautete: Ich werde es versuchen.

Als jemand, der ein halbes Jahr lang durch Europa (Türkei und Georgien) gereist ist und jeden Tag nach einer Unterkunft gesucht hat, weiß ich, wie wichtig eine Unterkunft ist. Auch wenn ich gerade zum Sommersemester nach Jülich gezogen bin ( ich bin am 7.3.20 umgezogen), um mein Studium der Elektrotechnik zu beginnen, würde ich mich sehr freuen, Sie in meiner kleinen Wohnung ( Studentenwohnung, die ich mit einer Mitbewohnerin teile) begrüßen zu dürfen.

I am an open-minded and helpful young man, who wants to go the strangest way, as many say. Traveling with little money. Get to know people from different parts of the world, even if you don't speak their language. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Weil ich den Austausch von Reisenden, Einheimischen sehr schätze und weil ich sicher bin, dass man dadurch das gerade zuu bereisende Land viel intensiver und besser kennenlernt, als es je ein Reiseführer tun könnte.

Because I appreciate the exchange of travellers and locals and because I am sure that you get to know the country you are travelling to much better and more intensively than any travel guide could ever do. Since the end of January I am back from my three-month trip, which was supposed to take much longer, but after my backpack was stolen at Barcelona airport at Christmas, I had to change my plans and forget about the 350 Euro flight ticket to Buenos Aires and hitchhike slowly back to Germany instead. Now I will start studying electrical engineering in Jülich in March 2020. Until then, I can't admit anyone because I live with my mother, but as soon as I move to Jülich, it would be my pleasure to accommodate you in my small 16m² student room or, if my roommate accepts, somewhere else in the small 2 person appartment.
When you invite/accept travellers to your apartment/house, you are taken to another world even without moving physically, stories of your own travels are shared with stories of the traveller and you are torn out of your everyday life for a while.
For me, , helping each other is a maxim, which Confucius well expressed: "What you do not want done to yourself don't do to others".

Es ist immer erstaunlich, wer einem so alles beim Trampen begegnet. So traf ich auf der Heimreise von Berlin nach Schöneck den Gründer von Hitchwiki.org , der mich bis nach Hause gefahren hat, obwohl er eigentlich nach Erfurt wollte.

Its always fascinating who you met while hitchhiking. So once I even met the founder of hitchwiki.org , who not only told me alot of his past, but also drove me home, although he wanted to drove to Erfurt. (It was a cerca 200km detour for him)
