Besides the obvious benefit of not having to pay for accommodation, CouchSurfing allows travellers to experience a country and its culture from within, instead of just as an observer. Inevitably, a CouchSurfing host will introduce you to his or her friends, and take you to the places that they enjoy. Basically, you can become part of their life for the time you're visiting. I promise your life will be richer through your membership to CouchSurfing." |

That was a few weeks ago, now I'm sure! In the 2 weeks leading up to my departure I hosted 2 young ladies from Dublin, and we had a pretty good time. They are full of adventure spirit and fun to be around. They went to burning man and came back to visit again afterwards, having a few hours I showed them a taste of wine country California. About the same time as their return visit I had been (trying) to host a German couple who traveled on a motorcycle from Texas to California. I helped them repair their bike and we had good times eating out doors, bbq's, motorcycle rides, swimming, drinking, etc..
Now I'm getting the best treatment imagineanable in Trinidad by TRINIDADSKY and her boyfriend NIVIN. I thanks them so much for watching my back and giving me the royal tour of their home island. It is a very eye opening experience for me and it couldn't have worked out any better.
I hope everyone will learn to open their doors, minds, and hearts to other people and cultures soon! Thank you couch surf and couch surfers and hosts!

- Rwanda - 850 000 killed in 30 days.
- Cambodia 2 million were killed by their own people.
- World War II - nearly 30 million.
It doesn't matter what your skin colour is, but what kind of person you are (you said it yourself with that Damian & Stephen Marley quote.)
That's why I respect all races and I try not to get driven by emotions, but to think reasonable. This will help you a lot.

At the end of May of this year, I hosted a German surfer for 2 days at my place in Toronto. It was his first time surfing. He was planning to cycle from Toronto to Vancouver. He decided to stay for a 3rd day so that he could see Niagara Falls. On that 3rd day, I decided to quit my job, prep my bike and join him on the bike trip. We left the following morning at 8.15am and cycled for 41 days to Vancouver. Over 4500kms! It made for an amazing summer, and a truly fantastic CS experience! Now that is life!
Thank you CouchSurfing!

The best guests are those who can articulate what they want to see, either generally or specifically." |
