About Me
Currently not accepting guests as I'm not a paying member.
----------
I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and moved to United States when I was 15 years old.
Used to work in the video games industry and honestly it's both as awesome as it sounds and not quite so at the same time! Now working on exploring the solar system.
I am a friendly guy who loves to learn and acquire new knowledge. Sometimes you live in US too long and you realize your knowledge of the world is a little lacking and stagnating and then you realize it's time to travel!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
** As a guest: **
I have been to a decent amount of countries but in the past I never felt that I have truly "been" to a place, except for times I had the opportunities to interact with the locals. To me traveling is about meeting people, learning about their culture and customs, as much as seeing all the sights (not that sights are not cool to visit! Give me Taj Mahal any day!).
To me couch surfing is really the best way to meet locals, and to learn more about the world that's not described in guidebooks or summarized in a two day tour of the sights.
I have only surfed a couple of times in Japan and Scandinavia, and those were awesome experiences, and the highlights of the trips. I don't get to surf as often as I would like though.
** As a host: **
Since I don't travel as much as I want to, this is an excellent chance to meet people from all over the world without me having to go to other countries. I moved here to Seattle and am finally living without a roommate so it's the perfect time to open my place up.
I do prefer to have some interactions with my guests, so I would prefer if we will at least have some time to chat and get to know each other.
Interests
I'm interested in learning more about the culture of the world. One thing I have found though, is that the universal force tying all kinds of people together is food! Food is more than just nutrients, it's also a way of life. So most trips I take do end up with me trying to sample as much of the local cuisine as possible. I also love cooking with friends to learn from each other.
I also like hiking and outdoors in general. If you like to hike/ski/backpack I would love to meet up with you!
On the more geeky side, working in the video games industry, I'm also quite fond of video games, board games, and interactive entertainment in general.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was looking through other surfers' profiles and honestly nothing I have done is as amazing as their achievements. To me though, when I hiked Half Dome in Yosemite, California I really felt like I have conquered the world. That's mostly because at that time I wasn't very fit and my friends were already up at the peak waiting for 2 hours. It was a grueling final stretch and I'm just really glad I made it up! Still feel sorry they had to wait for me that long, but at the same time really glad they had faith in me and waited for me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Deep conversations and hopefully good company.
Share stories about how working in the tech / video games industry is like in San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle.
I can probably fix most computer issues you have!
I'm also a decent cook and can help out in the kitchen and/or learning and sharing different cuisines.
