My husband Michael- a mechanic , my daughter Charli - a student and myself - a counsellor lived in South Australia for most of our lives but we have just moved to a suburb near Brisbane Queensland. We have 4 older children who are no longer at home and are avid world travellers themselves. Michael is an avid adventurer and a very social, outdoorsy type. His favourite journey to date was an Arctic expedition on an Ice Breaker . I love history , cultural experiences, ancient architecture and mingling with local people. Charli is so bright, friendly and social and she absolutely loves making friends. We are a happy, welcoming , down to earth and warm family.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love travelling and have travelled many parts of Australia and visited some amazing places around the world. There is so much more that we want to see. In 2018 we packed up our old life and camper-vaned / couch surfed / house sat around the world for a year. Our dream was to make life long friends and enjoy authentic experiences , sharing with local people.. We want our daughter to have many opportunities to meet and play with children from across our travels and to socialise across cultural and language differences in that beautiful way that children do. What better way to meet and get to know others than to be a part of the couch surfing community . We want to open our home to fellow travellers and begin to give back to a community who will be such a welcome and exciting part of our future .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was younger I travelled OS with no plan, no time table, just going where ever the moment took me and it was a life changing , amazing experience. Mike experienced icebergs , polar bears, walruses , whales and all kinds of beautiful creatures on an Arctic expedition . We had an amazing year travelling the world with our daughter, making friends and seeing some beautiful countries.

Teach, Learn, Share

We have a friendly home in Queensland quite central to Brisbane and half way between the Gold coast and Sunshine Coast. We are still exploring Queensland ourselves and we are happy to share what we know so far.We love sharing the Aussie lifestyle

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can share everything Aussie. Our life experiences living in OZ , our culture, our language our knowledge of flora, fauna and sites to see and of course our BBQ's. We can help out with almost anything and are happy to jump in and have a go. Mike is very very handy and loves getting his hands dirty.
