About Me
My name is Hayley and I have just recently moved to London for a two year working holiday visa! After not being sure what I wanted to study or do career wise... I booked a one-way ticket and well here I am. I hosted a lot of people back home with my family in New Zealand however it is now my turn to start travelling the world... so I've jumped back on to Couchsurfing! I hope to slowly make my way back and catch up with people I've hosted and also meet some new faces as I travel around Europe and the UK. I currently live in my best friends garden shed here in London... so sleeping on a couch is no biggie for me! (However this does mean I can't really host guests here while I'm in London.) Due to me and my family's busy lives, we stopped hosting for most of last year however I know when I return home, we will definitely be getting back onto it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Now that I've had a bunch of people stay with me I've realised I'm on couch surfing to meet people. I love letting people stay with my family and I and hearing their stories and travel tips. I've made so many good friends through this website in a short period of time that I hope to see again as I start my own travels around the world! I get a buzz learning about new cultures and hearing the difference between my life and someone else's. It inspires me to extend my travel plans to meet up with people again all over the world! There's nothing cooler than hosting new people, then having their friends or families come stay with us... or have the same people come stay multiple times in a row! We have made some lifelong friends from Couchsurfing that's for sure!
Interests
I love photography, reading, knitting, cooking (big on this one!) and exploring. Im active and enjoy getting out into nature on walks and hikes but also enjoy heading to the gym. I'm always looking for an adventure. And of course, I love travelling. I have the travel bug and I can't seem to shake it.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite movie of all time is definitely Grease. I also love the Harry Potter movies (and books). I'm pretty open to most movies but I don't enjoy horrors. I love reading I honestly read anything that looks good. Favourite book is the Hush Hush series (I can't just like one). I've also recently got into the Jack Reacher series and I hope to start reading some of the Stephen King classic too! I have a long list of books I'm trying to get through... but Netflix seems to distract me! I love my music too. I have a very alternative music taste and listen to a massive range from post hardcore to mainstream to electro.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have built a house in a Cambodian village for a family of 12. We worked through the hot sun all day and worked alongside all the local villagers including the chief. It was an amazing experience getting out there and involved with a community that is so different from my own! I've also been to Iguazu Falls, absolutely incredible! I've also now moved countries, which I must say is a pretty amazing thing to do!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach people some classic Kiwi dishes! Mostly I love to share experiences and learn about peoples lives, what they've done, where they have been. Sharing photos and sharing tips about how to take them is priceless. I can also teach people some local Kiwi slang (ie; the jandal, chilly bin etc).
What I Can Share with Hosts
My kiwi attitude and hospitality. New Zealanders are pretty relaxed and happy with life. I can share a laugh, a memory or two and an adventure with my hosts if they are willing! I can even cook a meal for you!
