我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

In 2012, I got a grant to travel to the Czech Republic and conduct interviews with international travelers about feelings of national identity as well as general opinions of the U.S., especially since 9/11 (I wrote my dissertation on war on terror discourse). The institutional red tape wouldn't let me couchsurf, but I continually met awesome hosts throughout my travels and knew it was a community I'd like to be a part of. Now, after a few years of hermitting up with a dissertation and living with a partner who was not so keen on the idea of strangers, I'm ready to meet some folk.
