Boulder is a gold mine for nature lovers, with over 31,000 acres of parkland and 200 miles of hiking and biking trails. Walk toward the 1st and 2nd Flatirons to reach the Royal Arch trail, a 3.5 mile round-trip hike with incredible views at the top that can reach all the way to Denver. For a more low-key stroll, wander down part of the Boulder Creek Path, which follows the Boulder Creek for 5.5 miles and is usually teeming with walkers, bikers, skaters, and even kayakers.

Explore Pearl Street in downtown Boulder to check out some of the city’s best shopping and dining. Here, you’ll find everything from bookshops to ice cream parlors to sushi restaurants and everything in between. For a truly unique experience, catch a performance at Red Rocks Amphitheater, a naturally formed outdoor venue with seating for over 9,000 people carved out of the hills of Red Rocks Park. This amphitheater is cool enough to have drawn acts such as the Beatles and Dave Matthews Band, so be sure to check the schedule to see who might be playing when you’re in town.
