About Me

Hey, my name is Lucile, i'm 21 years old. I'm new in Couchsurfing!
I am an open-minded and respectful person. I am French, I was born in the east of France, in a region called "Alsace", it is next to Germany. Then, I lived the majority of my childhood in the south of France. I then did a year of artistic preparation (drawing, cinema, theater, etc.) in Lyon, a large city more in the center of France.

I'm a very creative person who love a lot of various things
i have been impatient since a long time to see the world, to step out of our comfort zone and discover unknown things. To meet all the diversity, the beauty and the complexity of the world.

Many subjects interest me enormously. About the life, living together, about time, ecology, nature, History, the place of women, racism, and many others. I love listening to others, and interacting with them.

I also love cooking and I am very curious to discover the specialties of different countries. I also like to draw, paint. The music, I play a little bit guitar and sing.
I have also little siblings and like taking care of children!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This years, my project is to travel slowly without a plane, to meet people and to discover and learn about different cultures and exchange.

My plan is to travel as much as possible by hitchhiking. My first destination is Italy. I actually have Italian roots (my great-great-grandfather was Italian). My challenge is to learn Italian, at least to know the basics.
I would like to explore Italy from north to south and then hitchhike to Greece. And continuing towards Turkey, I would like to go towards Asia.
It's a big project and I'm really guided by a desire to meet people!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all styles of music and am even more curious to discover music from different countries or music that you like.
I really like the BEATLES, because it was the first rock music that I played on the guitar and sang as a child. The first summer: Eleanor Rigby. And the lyrics still speak to me today. I'll give you an excerpt:

"Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby
Picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window
Wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Winter 2020, secondary airport in Norway.
Me and my best friend Solie settled into a small airport with our sleeping bags, deciding to spend the night here.

I'm complaining a little because I can't find any "good positions". There are recliners but we have to sleep sitting up, so I decide to get under a table close to us.
Solie said to me, “Be careful when you get up so as not to raise your head!”.
And a few seconds later, I hit my head!
It made us laugh!

What was strange was that the airport security guard looked at us strangely. I went to the bathroom and when I came back, a man calls out to me and makes big signs with his arms: “close, close”.
I ran towards Solie and I saw her panicking putting away her things. The airport was closing!! The security guard was staring at us, panicking.
We take the cart with our stuff and head towards the exit! But the table goes with it!!! Yes because before I had carefully attached our bags to the table in case our things were stolen! We had forgotten in the panic. The guard was still staring at us.

A few minutes later we find ourselves in a room in a parking tower: Just a gray room with a bench and water on the floor. The security guard took us there. With Solie we then had a fit of laughter, perhaps from stress a little but also from this situation. In front of us: A guy who was going to Jordan: dressed in a little jacket. I remember that it was winter, there was snow outside. Soon we found ourselves going back and forth on the stairs because I couldn't feel my feet anymore!!

We have a good laugh about it today!

(we learned that normally they open a room, but since it was covid, no.)

big lesson: I will never complain about having a warm place to spend the night again! Even if I have to sleep on the ground, it's perfect!
