About Me
Dear Couchsurfer,
It's Chiara from Italy here!
Some things I do in my life: I study philosophy, make poor jewellery, work (rarely) as a speech therapist, volunteer as an Erasmus+ youthworker, travel, cook, walk, go thrifting.
I love improvising short trips and meeting people along the way - travelling is one of the very few things which is better when wild and low cost. ((:
I can't host people for now because I live in a student house and guests are not allowed :( But I am super happy to hang out with people and to show them around!
➡️ Also, if you need a signal to stop using Couchsurfing as you use Tinder, stop scrolling, this is your signal! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
couchsurfing for me means travelling by creating relationships, connecting the city to the relationship, constructing a series of additional meanings to the trip, which can no longer, for me, just be wandering alone around the city's monuments.
Interests
Never been sure of what I am doing (like a lot of us maybe), I am just experimenting with life – I guess you need to do it, sooner or later.
I try so hard to parent myself :) and to make me do things I like but procrastinate. For instance, I am obsessed with learning foreign languages and believe that for me doing meditation is fundamental (my attention span gets better), so I try to cultivate this habits if I can. I can't leave without writing down what I think, what I hear and what I observe, especially when I travel.
Last but not least: I enjoy a lot going out, partying and meeting new people (they call it party animal soul and yeah that's the thing maybe)
- writing
- philosophy
- psychology
- food
- languages and cultures
- yoga and meditation
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- while in Sofia intentionally missing my flight back only because I liked the people and the place
- burning my back because the wind made burning ashes from my cigarette fly directly into my dress
- living in a student house (yes it's special 'cause it totally changed my life at some point. Community life with 200 people from all over the world shifted my perspective forever).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a resilient listener and talker, just give me some coffee (or I can hunt it for you).
I can cook some Italian stuff, if you give me some time and less coffee (calm is needed).
We can make rings or bracelets together (excellent practise for fidgeting while talking).
