About Me

Review by a friend: "Daniel is an open minded, self-assertive person, who is tolerant and friendly."
I have an explorer attitude and I am curious. I just came home from a 3 Month Mexico trip. Was exciting, beautiful and sometimes scary. That's how I like it;)

I grown up as a son of artists. That formed me already, so it was pretty obvious to study product design https://danieltoos.com/. Later I realized that I don't want to sit all day in front of a monitor, so I took an opportunity and became a bar manager https://www.instagram.com/kabinpart/. Now I work from spring to autumn on an island and in winter I can travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's a very good way to learn about other cultures. I like my hometown and country and can give travelers recommendations. As a surfer it is a nice feeling to reach out to locals.
I am curious, but picky. Don't have to try everything but there is a lot I want to learn and understand. One project is myself, but not in the Ego way. More through situations and other people and of course looking inside.

Interests

I love bouldering, hiking, spending time with friends and nice people. I appreciate good food and drinks, cool bars and clubs. With friends we regularly go to Berlin, visit the Ozora festival and spend time in the nature.

Music, Movies, and Books

I think there is no favourite for me. I can list you a few:
alt-J, Badbadnotgood, Bartók, Boris Brejcha, Christian Löffler, Dresch Quartet, HVOB, Knower, Moderat, M.I.A, Nu, Run the jewels, Sam Shure, Sniper (techno, psy-trance, jazz - it's a question of mood)
2001 Space Odyssey, Bab'Aziz, Call Me by Your Name, Festen, Breaking Bad, Ninja Scroll, Pulp Fiction, Seven Samurai, The Salt of the Earth, The Wire, Youth (art, animation, documentations - the simple beauty of pictures after each other)
A könnymutatványosok legendája, Die Jüdin von Toledo, Körösi Csoma Sándor, Steppenwolf (biography, contemporary literature, design, esoteric, plain Indian culture - and I guess a lot more I never heard of)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Couldn't point out one. Climbing in different places, singing on a sundance, belonging to my tribe...
