About Me
📍SEPTEMBER 2024, LIVING IN HOUSTON, TX. 🛑
Hi, It’s me, iliana spells i-l-i-a-n-a; a Mexican surfer living in Houston, TX, USA.
I am outdoorsy, but I haven't done much since moving to Houston, Texas, unlike Mexico City, where I used to go hiking almost every weekend. I have good tips for hiking adventures. 🗻
“Day of the Dead” is my favorite Mexican celebration. I hope to go to Mitlan when I die. 💀🌼
I am open to trying out new flavors, but let's be real, everyone loves having Mexican food when dealing with a hangover or just for getting together. Pozole and Garnachas always make my tummy happy. 🇲🇽
I am curious to explore around. Thus, I can be a good companion. I consider myself a good listener and a reliable person. I have a fun laugh and find value in learning from small experiences with big meaning 🌎
Be a point of reference and impact positively" ✨👒 Surrounding myself with people who inspire me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In 2017, I created my profile, but I didn't know how to use the app. It took me months to find out the events feature, and it was during a camping trip near Mexico City that I met more surfers who explained to me and introduced me to this fantastic community.🎒
The values of Couchsurfing align perfectly with my own:
Share Your Life + Create Connection + Offer Kindness + Stay Curious + Leave It Better Than You Found It. That’s why to see me around 🕊
Some highlights of my experience using Couchsurfing include:
- Making good friendships, might be lifelong friends.
-Embark myself on exciting and successful trips
- Meeting and connecting with incredible and inspiring individuals
- Participating and engaging exciting events
- Organizing events like the Houston Couchcrash 2024 🤓

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During the initial camping/meeting cs, I uncovered my innate ability for hiking. I successfully have done the top ten highest mountains in Mexico, all of which range from 4,000-5,000 meters (13,000-14,000 feet) in height.
Looking forward to developing new skills. ✨️
What I Can Share with Hosts
Mexico City and greater Houston share the similarity of being huge cities. I always relied on public transportation living in Mexico city, which, while slow, is reliable. In contrast, in Houston, it's essential to have a car.
Growing up, I have the fortune to always have a hot home meal so I don't have many dining recommendations for Mexico City, but I have an extensive list of restaurants to suggest in Houston based on your preferences.
Although I can not host in Houston, I will show you around if I am available. I genuinely enjoy helping visitors discover specific places of interest. I am more than happy to host you in Mexico.
