About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My wife and I are biking from Estonia to Turkey. Also writing about the experience while meeting as many people as we can!

ABOUT ME

My aim is to meet cool people and live outside my comfort zone.
My goal is to say Yes to any new experience.
Then I want to write about it and motivate other people to say Yes too.

Are you awesome? I want to meet you. You sound cool.

I am also a screenwriter who makes everything from comedy to horror.

PHILOSOPHY

There is so much to do in life, so much to experience and to learn. And for some reason, so many people are perfectly content to go through life doing the same things over and over again in their little never-changing town! I don't understand it.
I want to go out and experience as much as I can. Do things I didn't know I wanted to do. I believe that you can accomplish anything if you are passionate about it, and I plan on pursuing my passions until the day I die.

My life goal is to motivate and inspire people to be the best they can be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate full heartedly? With a smile on my face and my pockets full of dreams!

But seriously though, what does this question even mean?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We travelled all over Europe meeting up with delightful locals in quaint coffee shops and hidden pubs. We stayed at people's houses who showed us things we would have never found on our own. We talked of life's great mysteries on top of skyscrapers, old churches and mountains. All thanks to Couchsurfing.

Hosted fascinating people from all over the world in my little apartment in Kelowna, Canada. We climbed mountains, swam lakes, told stories, sung songs and learned more about what exactly life is. Having travellers every weekend made it always feel like vacation.

Interests

Writing and all the amazing things you can accomplish through it.

I love music. Playing it, listening to it, talking about it. Mainly playing it though.

I'm passionate about passion. What makes you tick? What is your purpose? Why do you keep on living this life? That's what I want to find out.

Obscure movies and television. Also cartoons. I love cartoons. One day i want to make them for a living.

Comedy. If it's funny i'm interested in it.

Travelling. Outdoors things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Neutral Milk Hotel, Beatles, Flight of the Conchords, Avett Brothers, Frank Sinatra, Ludo, Tally Hall, Of Montreal, Simon & Garfunkel, Cake, David Bowie.
Right now anything with a banjo or accordion in it I love. Or 60s music.

Movies: Army of Darkness, Shaun of the Dead, Stardust, Fired Up, Cabin in the Woods, Dead Snow. If it's silly and over the top you know i'll love it. I'm also including Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gravity Falls, Venture Brothers, and Arrested Development in here.

Books: Anything by Neil Gaiman, Kurt Vonnegut or Douglas Adams. Phantom Tollbooth, Alice in Wonderland, Game of Thrones, John Dies at the End, Princess Bride, Martian Chronicles, Lost World... too many to list here. I love to read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteering for 18 months on a hospital boat in Africa. I worked beside over 40 nationalities, helping people who I would have never had a chance to talk to. Most of our time was in Republic of Congo and Madagascar.

The first time I played music live on a stage. The fact that people were cheering and singing along with something I was creating was an amazing feeling.

Watching a seahorse cling on to a single piece of seaweed off the coast of australia. While scuba diving you see tons of amazing things, but its easy to forget that next to all the tropical fish and turtles are these pinky length creatures that survive soley by clinging to pieces of seaweed.

Getting radio play i'd written and recorded on the radio. Again the fact that someone actually liked something I made was phenomenal.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love music and can get you started on almost any instrument.
I want to learn anything that is out there.

Honestly I really enjoy talking with people. I think the best way to motivate and inspire people is by talking to them and finding out what they really want to do with their lives. Most people don't even know this themselves. I love helping others discover themselves.

Do you have something your passionate about (i know you do!), teach me about it! I want to learn!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've got lots of great stories — some of my most famous are: the time I accidentally travelled with a con man in Australia; the hike of near death; the down and upside of confessing your first love.

We can make something together! I've got microphones and would love to create anything — maybe an interview about life and the deep questions, or music together, or maybe a funny short video??

I can cook you eggs. My specialty is breaking the yolk.
