About Me

* My motivation for living:

- Discovering new places
- Growing as a person
- Connecting with other people (talking about nature, life and other deep / nurturing conversations).

* My friends would identify me as:

- Kind
- Responsible person (Capricorn (nice one :D))
- Control freak and always have "to do list" (working on this one :D)
- Tea person (dipping cookie in the tea >)
- l like the smell of freshly lawned grass
- If you have blanket and want to watch starts with small picnic. Well, you got me.
- Interested in Japanese Culture, anime, mange and little bit K-drama

* Other things:

- l like waving at strangers on streets
I love the both of reactions!
Either people smiling and waving back by saying "Hi" or horror on their face like who the f*ck is this person?!

- Probably too much Harry Potter fan (will read all books - that is on my bucket list)

When l was 12, l had Turkish Potterhead facebook (yes, l am GenZ, having FB account at 12 ^-^) friends.
One of my friends in the group posted a picture with just a white background. Soon enough, other Potterheads started commenting on the picture, talking about what they saw (like Patronus spell, everybody was commenting something different!). I decided to comment honestly, "I see just white, nothing else."
They called me muggle and l started to cry hahahahha

- We all have that one friend on vacation who says:

"It is not that far, we can walk"
And you end up doing 30,000 steps a day.

l am that friend :P

- l always put double space between the sentences in any platform that l am chatting.
My friends find it bizzarre and bothering since it is just texting, not professionally emailing. My defense is that it looks neater and takes less time to understand what the text implies xD

- I am left handed but l write with my right hand. l forgot how to write with my left hand, since l was forced to write with my right hands since primary school periods.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a people oriented person and l like to meet new people from different background and culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

- I like self-development related books, but open any type of book, as l am a nerd and geek xD.

- Whenever l solo travel, l love to buy one of the best book and / or authors from that city in order to get in touch with the place l am travelling more.

So far, l have finished The Name of the Rose (Umberto Eco) (barely 600 pages? xDD) and after book, watched the movie.

- My Music taste is little bit mixed, since l like to try new and different things:

- Mostly pop (Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey and Aurora are my top favourites, as well as Adele, SYML, Cigarette after sex, Toygar Isikli, Nil Karaibrahimgil, Edis, Radwimps)

- l like exploring new musics too. So, l also admire Normal the kid, Chance Peña, Stephen Sanchez, Hyde, One Ok Rock group

- While working or doing household chores, l love listening Anime soundtracks for long hours (Mostly, Studio Ghibli, piano version of animes) and sometimes, classic music.

- If l start to talk about movies, films and animes, it would be too long :). In short, l love watching anime and movies.

- My favorite childhood TV series is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 🐢 and anime is Fairy Tail .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Uhmmm, to be born? :)

- I went to watch movie in cinema alone few times (First one was Frozen 2 hahahah)

- In 2020, l went to Porto for 6 months of exchange programme and l got stuck there because of worldwide pandemic and l couldn't and didn't want to get back to my country. Stayed in Dormitory with other students and had eaten a lot and did party a lot, since it was just us in a lockdown :D

Well, l had too much fun and gained over 15 kg :P. It got me a year and half to lose it all. But, boooy what alcohol and junk food can do to your body?!

Since then, l have been trying to eat healthy.

- When l had to go back from Porto to my hometown (Baku), flights got cancelled (when l was in airport :D) and l had to take bus and highway roads to come from Athens to Istanbul. I hitchhiked (in Turkey, to pass the border from Greece to Turkey hahahah) with 40 kg baggage :D.

- l migrated to another country thorugh professional career to be out of comfort zone and start new chapter in my life at the age of 22

Teach, Learn, Share

- I learn French and willing to continue Japanese

- l am patient and l love teaching. During univeristy years, l am a mentor for university student and l help them online to share my experience, help and support them in educational, professional journeys.

Sometimes, l still get message from them and it makes me feel amazing!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share one of the bed in my room and of course, l can show them around in the city.

Message to myself and everyone:

I want both the good and bad things in my past to serve as an example to others and to me.

Love yourself, that is the most important thing. whatever happens in the world, don't let it spoil you. Remember a ship on the sea, it is fine and it advances until water leaks inside of it.

Become friends with people who aren't your age. Hang out with people whose first language isn't the same as yours. Get to know someone who doesn't have your social background. This is how you can see the world. This is how your grow

Born to lose, live to win!

Knowing yourself is essential but knowing others is necessary
