Music, Movies, and Books

“Assimilate ubiquitously. Doublethink-to deliberately believe in lies, while knowing they're false.
Examples of this in everyday life: "Oh, I need to be pretty to be happy. I need surgery to be pretty. I need to be thin, famous, fashionable." (...) This is a marketing holocaust. Twenty-fours hours a day for the rest of our lives, the powers that be are hard at work dumbing us to death.
So to defend ourselves and fight against assimilating this dullness into our thought processes, we must learn to read. To stimulate our own imagination, to cultivate our own consciousness, our own belief systems. We all need skills to defend, to preserve, our own minds.” - Adrien Brody, "Detachment"

*****
„Arriving at each new city, the traveler finds again a past of his that he did not know he had: the foreignness of what you no longer are or no longer possess lies in wait for you in foreign, unpossessed places.“

Italo Calvino, "The Invisible Cities"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living my life the way I want to !

I have a lot of crazy experiences in my life and it's hard to list all of them, but some of them include:
- Went to India alone at 18 with zero backpacking experience and very little money, ended up spending 6 months there .
- Hitchhiked around the Balkans
- Travelling the world solo and visiting not so easy destinations such as Iraq, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia... (and I still don't know how I did it) :D
-Spent 3 days on a train from Tanzania to Zambia and rode the Siberian railway all the way from Moscow to Vladivostok
- Snorkled with whale sharks in the Philipines
- Volunteered in different hostels in Europe and lived in a commune in Granda, Spain
- Making friends and family on 5 continents ❤
