About Me

Im a very likable guy, jovial, genial and get on well easily with people I meet. I own and run an online fine art gallery with a corporate and public art consultancy tenet which i run as part time business now. I work as Director of Strategy and Corporate Services and have resort to contracting in the last few years. After three years working industry I’m back at working as a management consultant (self employed) as this gives me the freedom to follow my passions one of which is travelling and visiting new places as well as exploring different cultures.

I love meeting new people, sharing experiences and exploring places. I have a great passion for yoga, spirituality, cooking and enjoy a good wine albeit not much of a drinker. My friends will describe me as intellectually agile and emotionally resilient. I’m a great advocate for mental and emotional well-being, law of attraction and self love. I’m rich in love, slow to anger, beaming with patience and have a kind heart. I’m a workaholic but I do know how to let me head down.

Most people have lost the essence or importance of CS and sadly see it as a free hotel service. That isn’t why I’m part of this community. I understand that sometimes people find themselves in a predicament and will need a safe place to stay for a night or two and as such i’m happy to help as I’ve always done; but before you request to stay with me please take note of the essence and importance of the CS community and read my profile well before requesting me to host you. Remember I’m not a free Airbnb!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a great way to explore places, meet new people, learn from others, share culture and hopefully give others a better experience of my city and home country.

Interests

I'm interested in meeting new people and making friends. I love dancing , art, music, cycling, running, photography, healthy eating and cooking. I have a great passion for making kombucha and I make the best Kombucha (or so I have been told). I like to explore different cultures and share my experiences. Recently exploring plant based diet and healthy eating. I’m a good listener and empathetic and I love visiting museums, art galleries and places of educational interests. I like to let my hair down and so like to go out and enjoy a drink or two. I have over the last 3 years developed a keen interest in American craft ales, beers, larger, stout etc although I’m not much of a drinker when it comes to beer. I like music and enjoy visiting venues with live music. I'm very polite and respectful and i endeavour to treat and do unto others as I expect to be done to me. Please state the word “Ballistics” when messaging me so I know you have read my profile. If I don’t see the word ballistics in your request message then it’s unlikely I will respond to any request. I tend to host people who I have something in common with, People I can learn from and share life experiences with, people who feel they can learn from me. I have met some wonderful people and made some great friends and I will like to keep that ball rolling....In saying that, I’m always happy to help if one finds themselves in a sticky situation and desperately needs a warm, safe and positive environment to settles for a night or two but reasons will have to be genuine. State the word Ballistics in your request for me to know you’ve read my profile.

I've been a part of CS for a number of years and I've seen it change a lot. I tend to host surfers who are in tune with the original mission and vision of CS. I like to see hosts and surfers alike sticking to the original concept of CS - not just a free Airbnb.

Music, Movies, and Books

Al pacino's scent of a woman is up my street! I enjoy documentaries and biographies and will listen to classical, jazz and rhythm and blues where possible but I'm very flexible when it comes to music and do appreciate good music irrespective of the genre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Raised lots of money for lots of charities, particularly women, children and homeless ones.

I drove to visit 5 states in the usa in 6 days in August, 2014 and been to 10 states in one year whilst visiting the USA.

Travelled the Far East extensively and been on a train over the river Kwai- a frequenter to the war memorial.

Teach, Learn, Share

I work as a management consultant now amidst being a business and life coach. I have great experiences I can share to enrich other people's lives. I can teach you to be a good cook and how to make tasty meals without breaking the bank. I trained as a pharmaceutical scientist and worked for a big pharmaceutical company developing analgesics. I can share ad teach on the pharmacokinetic properties of medicines and drugs in general. I branched into management and worked for the NHS in various management roles (human resources, finance, information management and technology and project management.) I worked as a clinical business analyst and a solutions architect before starting my own business. My last role before deciding g to be self employed was a director for not for profit organisation. I love philosophy and its application to life and I make a good conversation as well as a good listener. I also used to own and run an arts gallery (online now) and Incan teach you the business aspects of arts, curating and running an arts gallery. I know something about pretty much everything and I have had a very varied academic and working experiences. I have goats that I milk a couple of times a week and happy to teach how to milk. If you want to be hosted by me then I will expect you to tell me about yourself and why you wan to be hosted by me?

What I Can Share with Hosts

I cook, teach, and do any odd jobs needed around the house! I'm a fantastic handyman you will ever get for a surfer! I love a good red wine and my knowledge of wine and collection makes a worthy conversation amidst the fact that I will certainly make you laugh! One good thing is you will never get bored of me. M
