About Me
CURRENT MISSION
When I turned 18, my current mission was to see as many places of New Zealand and Australia as i could and just to enjoy the time on the other site of the world and to meet many people from different cultures.
I definitely did that! It was the best time of my life and i would do it again anytime! Back then I tried Couchsurfing for the first time and fell in love with it.
From that point onwards, travelling became my biggest passion and I tried to do Couchsurfing as often as possible. I also did an Erasmus Semester abroad and my Master Degree and participated in several International Weeks organized by my student association where I also got the chance to host international students.
CURRENT
Currently, I am on a Sabbatical year, travelling throughout the Subindian Continent and Southeast Asia
ABOUT ME
I´m an uncomplicated, enthusiastic and humorous woman from Leichlingen (next to Cologne) in Germany. There is almost nothing about which I cannot laugh and almost nothing in which I´m not interested.
I love couchsurfing because i love meeting new people and sharing experiences and lifestyles. If I am interested in something, then I give 100% and have unlimited enthusiasm :)
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is to TRY to enjoy your life everyday und to be happy and confident with the things you have.
I am trying to think less about what other people think and instead just do the things that make me personally happy. However, that is an effortful process I believe :)
I am vegetarian (almost vegan) and sustainability and love for animals and the environment is an important issue for me.
Also, I have just done my Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh and participated in a Buddhism and Meditation retreat in Nepal.
I am curious to learn more about Meditation, mindfulness and Buddhism as a life philosophy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I´m on couchsurfing because it is the best way to meet locals and to learn about their culture. You meet new people which often have the same philosophy of life like you have and you can develop friendships all over the world. It is an amazing way for cultural exchange, sharing stories and building up an international network. I really enjoy being part of this community and already was able to make so many incredible memories.
Interests
My Hobbies are dancing, yoga, meditation. I also do pole dance and go every week to Salsa/Bachata parties. I really love dancing in general.
I spent most of my free time with my friends and like going to restaurants, bars and cafes. If the weather allows, I enjoy active days the most, such as hiking, biking, swimming etc. I am also always up for trying new things like surfing and other sports. I really love being in the nature and nothing beats a cosy BBQ with friends at the lake in warm summer nights :)
Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to nearly every genre of Music.
My favourite books are crime stories, but my favourite book is "The shoal", written by Frank Schätzing. It gives insights into another intelligent world besides the human beings.
One of my favourite movies is Little Women. It's such a classic and it reminds me of the important bond between siblings, no matter how different you are.
I also really love the Great Gatsby as it is such a tragic/dramatic story and pictures the glamorous but problematic time period back then quite accurately.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To fly like a bird during my sky dive in New Zealand was such an amazing thing.
To dive like a fish in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
And much much more!!! But those stories we can share in person :)
