About Me

Hey Couchsurfers! I'm Blanca, an open-minded, extremely curious, responsible, independent, humble, driven and ethical young woman born and raised in the mountains of a tiny village near Barcelona.

Wishing to see the best of Barcelona and its surrounding areas but I cannot host you? No problem! Check all my suggestions on places to go, eat and drink here : https://cutt.ly/4QYLpdQ

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I truly believe in the power of generosity and altruism! For me, traveling adds peace, joy, growth and experience to my life. No matter what purpose instigates my traveling, it always unfolds new realms of development.

As I read at somepoint of my life, “traveling teaches us being a little less hasty to judge, and a little more open to change”.

Interests

I’m super interested in geography, I love maps and I know almost all the capital cities of the world. I am a big fan of sudokus, cycling, running and dogs! Besides, I really enjoy travelling and learning new languages.

Books: Into Thin Air and Into the Wild both by Jon Krakauer, To Shake the Sleeping Self by Jedidiah Jenkins, Here I am by Ruthie Lindsey, Wild by Cheryl Strayed, City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert, Untamed by Glennon Doyle and Educated by Tara Westover. I am quite a big fan of memoirs and nonfiction books.

Movies: Grease, Rent, Mamma Mia, In Bruges, Captain Fantastic, The Pianist, Forrest Gump, Schindler's List and How to be Single.

Music: Coldplay, Macaco and Macklemore, among others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Being a blood donor
- Sponsoring a child from Zimbabwe, and being committed to her safety, health and education
- Walking 591km of El Camino de Santiago, 260km of wich with my brother
- Picking up a hitchhiker!

- Being featured at Couchsurfing’s Blog: https://blog.couchsurfing.com/meet-a-host-blanca-calafell/

Teach, Learn, Share

“Challenge yourself, get out of your comfort zone, do it even when others don’t understand, follow your curiosity, find your version of wild, the universe is listening to you, ask for what you want, work to make it happen, be open, be true to yourself, keep moving forward, slow down, be present, love how imperfectly perfect you are, spend time alone, and enjoy your own company.”

Don't seek happiness, create it! Life is beautiful!

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you host me, I can teach you some words in any of my mother-tongue languages, and also you will have the chance to learn more about my culture. I can cook a traditional Catalan or Spanish dish (don’t expect much here though), and of course, share some nice travel stories with a beer (or two or three!). I consider myself to be pretty funny and always up for some partying and fun!
