About Me

My name is Christophe and I am from a tiny piece of land called Luxembourg. 🇱🇺

Do I believe in nations? Well, even if I disbelieved in them, they'd still be there and so would their borders with all of their pesky visa and so on. Also, I appreciate having at least about 2000 km2 where I
can speak in my native language.

Anyhow.
Reading, writing, traveling, going out, hiking and hitchhiking, growing plants, playing guitar and backgammon, swimming, ranting about the lack of night trains in Europe and meeting many people have been activities I had been indulging in and have greatly appreciated during the last years.
Though especially reading and hitchhiking. Or all of the above combined.
And sleeping after a nice dinner.

I got married 2 years ago to a Georgian wife, whom I had met during my EVS in Rustavi, Georgia - the city that has been described to me as the world's ugliest.
For the last 4 months we have been traveling about 50% of the EU surface in train, blablacar, bus, and - yes, we even used this once - plane!
We are on our holy quest to find home! To create our proper community, being people together and contribute to making this crazy world a little better 🌻

You see, I am not a complicated person, but I do enjoy company as I go on through whatever life can throw at me.
I suppose these are most important things about me at the time being.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Needless to say, I enjoy good company no matter where they are from or what keeps them afloat. I want to meet new and interesting people. I would like to have a closer look into people's lifestyles and their cultures as I travel. And certainly I would like to give others the same privileges and honour of staying with locals.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like many different genres of music. And whenever I don't know what to listen to, I switch on fip.fr (https://www.fip.fr/). It's amazing music.

I'm actually a picky watcher of films. Though I'm open to any genre, I love a good combination of the elements of cinematography: acting, sounds, music, optics, VFX, storyboard.
Together they form brilliant pieces of art, such as Apocalypse Now, Superbad, Breaking Bad, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Шагаю по Москве, Kusturica films, etc.

Anything that has letters is welcome. Believe me, when I was in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan I ran out of things to read and these countries are a genuine desert when it comes to literature... I ended up with withdrawal symptoms and severe stress.
I do have a certain type of books that I like, but I cannot really define it. 📖📚
Lately I've been reading something about Homosexuality in Soviet Russia, a travel lof of a British officer on his trip through Khiva, short stories about the typical Sicilian life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've watched the livestream One Armenia when the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan broke out over the region of Artshakh... I was amazed to see so many brilliant Armenian musicians and composers united to bring a little peace and justice to the world.
So I donated to them. To Armenian refugees. For those, who need it the most.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help with language learning and also a little bit with guitar.
When it comes to learning I want to know no barriers: if you want to show or teach something, go ahead. I am all eyes and ears.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Usually I am an excellent guest. I don't expect much from my host - sometimes people are busy and can offer only a bed - at other times we can chit-chat the night away, paint together, make films, teach each others our languages, etc.

My specialty is my broad knowledge of about everything. I would love to share it with you.

Countries I’ve Visited
