Overview
About Me
I'm a regular in the meetup scene, enjoy meeting people and going on long walks. Born and raised in Malaysia, studied in California for 4 years, but after living in Singapore for years I've decided to call it my home and finally became a citizen.
I think I'm open-minded, chatty, curious and friendly. Love exchanging stories and tips with fellow travelers. Often times I get inspired by their experiences and picked up new hobbies. I once joined someone I met from my scuba diving course for rock climbing, and now it has became one of my hobbies.
The most memorable parts of my travels have always been the people I've met along the way. From the stranger I chatted with at Hanoi airport while waiting for the bus who became my drinking buddy for the next few days, local friend I've met on a meetup that showed me around Hanoi, to the fellow traveler friend from my hostel where we checked out the Budapest thermal baths together, all these experiences formed the highlights of my trips.
I'm easy going and flexible, and willing to work around your schedule.
Would gladly show you around Singapore in return when you visit :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Memories! I've had an awesome host that invited me to experience life as a local (including swimming in the river in a hot summer), an arts student that taught me about art-nouveau in Budapest and showed me his artworks, a travel buddy where we went exploring together multiple days, and the sleepless nights I went bar hopping on from Hangouts (when we came out it was bright, didn't expect that..).
I've joined countless meetup groups and events but it's hard to beat the experiences I've had on CS. Hoping to share the experience with others as well!

Music, Movies, and Books
Guess the movie - "Never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome. Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience."
"One of the things I love most about this life is that there's no final goodbye. You know, I've met hundreds of people out here and I don't ever say a final goodbye. I always just say, "I'll see you down the road." And I do. And whether it's a month, or a year, or sometimes years, I see them again." - Nomadland
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking Mt. Kinabalu, started the summit hike 2am, on the descent it started raining, the trails turned into a river and the steps became waterfall. Ended up exiting the park at 8pm so I've hiked from night to night.
Sanfermín in Pamplona, Spain. Slept at a campsite outside of town for 2 nights (it was freezing cold), woke up very early to run with the bulls and met a new friend whom we've explored the festivities together.
Did the Singapore Coast-to-Coast Trail (36km) overnight, lasting from 6pm to 7am of the next day. We started with 8 people but ended with 5. Spent the next few days limping.
Teach, Learn, Share
Ichi-go ichi-e:
Roughly translated as "for this time only", and "once in a lifetime". To cherish any gathering that one might take part in, any moment in life cannot be repeated; even when the same group of people get together in the same place again, a particular gathering will never be replicated, and thus each moment is always a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
