Hey all, my name is Ian , I'm a British Born Chinese with parents from Hong Kong. Grew up and currently live in London UK. Am 31 years old (birthday 16th sept) - a creative producer / set designer - have been freelancing since 2020. Before that was working in Visual Merchandising and Window Displays.

Been taking this year off work to travel and volunteer in various humanitarian aid projects and do some Backpacking (find me on Worldpackers!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I signed up to Couchsurfing some 10 years or so ago after a friend mentioned they had been using it for travelling - never got around to ever using it myself but now that I've been taking the time off work to travel I've subscribed and would like to try it for myself.

I prefer travelling alone and getting to meet and befriend locals - Couchsurfing feels like a good platform for meeting and seeing the lifestyles of people from different cities etc.

Interests

Have a very broad range of interests - always up for learning and trying new things. Never not curious.
Also enjoy partaking with other's hobbies/interests especially when meeting new people and getting to know them.

Enjoy a mix of outdoor and indoor activities - active not sporty. Likes nature trails, hikes, swimming, being on the water (rowing etc.) love bonfires...(bit of a pyro but rest assured I'm not gonna burn your house down haha

Love cooking, love eating, food as medicine but not in a anti-vaxxer way - more a nourishing the soul and dinner parties, lunch and dinner dates over drinks kinda way.

Also a bit of a clean freak - but not anal about it. I just enjoy pottering around organising things and tidying...maybe a bit OCD with ...after all I did work in Visual Merchandising - basically a glorified clearner haha
