Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hi, house guests/ couch surfers!

To make it easier for you , as a host I’d like to share a few things about my place and some guidelines.

Firstly, I love hosting and people being my guest. So just be my guest as long as you're a traveler who needs a short rest from traveling and a place to stay, no problem. I'm happy to be able to offer one. It's also my way of repaying the kindness and generocity to my previous/future hosts until they're able to come stay at my place, anyway. Always nice to be in a virtuous cycle.

I can host in Zurich. It’s an expensive city and I know even saving 1 night in a hotel can be really beneficial.

There aren’t really any house rules. As long as we treat each other with common courtesy, decency, and respect we are all good!

1. You will have clean sheets, a double bed, speedy WiFi with the code in your room.

2. I can usually give you a key to come and go from the place but it depends if my neighbour is in as he usually keeps my spare- so not guaranteed.

3. Feel free to use my toiletries and save yours for places in which you actually need on your travels.

4. I do not cook much. Although, if I’m free in the evening and you want to cook with me then I’d like that. Also you are more than welcome to utilize the kitchen which is fairly well equipped.

5. I will usually only be able to host for 1 night as I have a pretty hectic schedule most weeks

6. I would like guests to tell me what time they’re arriving so I can plan to be home to let them in. Please try to call me and tell me about your plans and a little about who you are before arriving so I know you’re real and coming!

7. Also, the following morning i would really appreciate it if you could have “check out” by 9am latest. Im usually in work calls/meetings by then. If this is a problem then let me know and we can always discuss.

Interests

Love sports....any sport, you name it I like. Currently playing football, basketball, tennis, squash and rowing. Played a lot of cricket, swimming at competitive level and scuba diving. Trying to improve my skiing now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Listen to a wide array of music, and have quite varied taste. I don't get a chance to read as much as I would like to these days! :(

Dived a WWII ship wreck buried 100ft deep, off the coast of Egypt. Amazing experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hello Hosts!
First of all thanks for reading my profile, I wanted to share some /boundaries that hopefully will be beneficial to you and to me :)

To make the best decision that works for me and you , sending a few details can be really helpful. I send out messages to Couch surfers to tell them where my house is, what the situation with sharing the property is and if it will be possible to come and go and go from the property. I’d be really grateful if you could do the same. Please don’t confuse these as a demand but more a way of me ensuring that I can be a good couchsurfer for you.

Hence, the following questions ;

1) Do you smoke inside your place?

2) Would you be willing to give me spare keys so that I don’t disturb you if I need to come and go?

3) What kind of room will I be staying in and is it possible to share pictures on your profile if you haven’t already?

4) Your Googlemaps address so that I can look up, get my bearings and plan accordingly

5) I'm happy with exploring on my own or also being showed around by the host if that suits them. Let me know what you’re happy with a combination of both usually works me. But if you’re busy or don’t want to I don’t mind and totally understand!
