I'm an English girl living in Melbourne Australia. I teach English to foreign medical students, from Japan, China, India and many other countries. I'm Vegetarian but don't mind other people eating meat or even cooking meat for other people as I grew up eating it.

I'm coming to Japan for the first time and trying to get a mixture of experiences while I'm there including staying in some traditional places and meeting some local people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite music is definitely Queen but I also like the Beatles, Emile Sande, Savage Garden and a variety of other stuff.
I try and see a new movie every fortnight. I recently saw The Imitation Game and the Skeleton Twins which were both good. Next week I'm going to see Birdman which is nominated for several Oscars.
I like classic English novels by Jane Austen and Charles Dickens but also other books. I read everyday

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been fortunate in my life to do many amazing things. 2 years ago I did a fantastic trip between Darwin and Broome, across the northwest of Australia. We hiked in gorges, swam in watering holes and slept outside under the stars everynight in swags which was magical.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a good listener and can help people with their English if it's not their first language. I am a good cook and also enjoy making cakes and can teach you how to make French style pancakes which are also popular in the UK.
I'd love to learn about Japanese culture and the way of life in Japan as well as improve the small amount of Japanese I hope to have learnt before my trip.
