Overview
About Me
I'm a queer woman originally from upstate NY, now residing in Philadelphia, PA.
I make and sell queer altar candles (flamingidols.com) to pay my bills and engage with my queer community. I live in a collective house of 6 adults which is part of a land trust of 8 properties co-owned and managed by the ~60 people who live in them.
Some things I like: eating food grown in my garden or found in dumpsters, cooking, reading, critiquing pop culture, drawing, printmaking, swimming, learning about medicinal herbs, writing letters, doing magic.
I help organize a childcare collective in philly that provides free childcare at meetings of social justice groups lead by low income women and families. I'm also part of Decarcerate PA, a group organizing to end mass incarceration . I like to keep busy and active, but also take time to take care of myself and my friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm all about a solidarity economy and people helping each other out. I've had a counchsurfing account for almost a decade, when I was younger I used to host people a lot. In the summer of 2016 I'll be traveling around Europe and am hoping to find some people to stay with using couchsurfing. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Completed a 10 day, 110 mile march from Philly to Harrisburg with 40 comrades to demand the state government take the money they are putting into building new prisons and use it to fund schools instead.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a little bit about medicinal herbs and am very interested in learning more. I'm a solid cook and baker and am happy to share those skills. I'm also a decent artist and am happy to illustrate something. I know a little about gardening. I'm an experienced meeting facilitator and note-taker! I am a professionally-trained counselor.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am happy to help with cooking, baking, cleaning and childcare! And happy to share any of the above skills. Would definitely like to share a laugh :)
