Overview
About Me
Heyho! I'm Sam, 19, originally from Germany and currently volunteering for the UNESCO at a school in Ulaanbaatar!
I discovered my love for travelling in the past couple of years, though unfortunately haven't been able too much of that yet. But I hope to change that soon with trips planned to many different countries in Central and East Asia!
I love meeting new people, learn about different cultures, and especially love to explore cities and countries and try different foods.
I'm easygoing, open-minded and very excited to get to know you - whether it is you hosting me or me hosting you! I like going out, but can also definitely appreciate a more relaxed day every now and then.
Also, I'm a great cook (<- huuuuge overstatement btw, but I'd love to learn new recipes!), love to play board games, know an abundance of useless facts that only escape my mind when I actually need them (I can be a bit of a nerd) and did Judo and swimming (but lack coordination for basically any ball games (joke not intended).
My languages: I speak German and English fluently, can speak a bit of French, am actively learning Mongolian right now and (unsuccessfully) tried learning Elvish and Dutch.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm pretty new to couchsurfing, but after hearing about it from a friend, I figured why not try?
I hope to be able to meet new people and make new friends through both hosting as well as being hosted by other couchsurfers - and hope to learn about other cultures, countries, people, hobbies, and food!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Unfortunately, I'm not very talented in making music, but love to listen to a variety of various genres from Metalcore and Alternative Rock/Pop to Indie Pop and Indietronica.
Recently I've also been pretty in Jazz.
Favourite movies:
Wall-E. (You won't be able to change my mind on that)
Also, pretty much most films that involve Tom Hanks.
Usually a fan of drama, comedy, and a bit of horror now and then, not that much an action and superhero guy tho (except for Batman). Nevertheless, I'm currently trying to watch all of Marvel in chronological order right now.
Oh, and LOTR.
And Hamilton (The Musical).
Books:
Currently reading "The Great Gatsby"
I have been into classics recently and became a fan of Dystopian novels such as 1984, Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451 etc.
I don't mind some romance either, though, and particularly enjoyed the Death-Cast-Series by Adam Silvera.
Even though I don't read as much of it nowadays, I've used to be and still am a huge fan of Fantasy novels.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Interrail through Europe - it was an amazing experience. The trip taught me how to be independent and spontaneous, especially since half the trip didn't go as planned.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you in the languages I can speak.
Also, I know a few Indian recipes from my grandma.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey
Countries I’ve Lived In
