ABOUT ME

I am 49 years old, living in the Copenhagen down town on my own. I have no children - just me. However I consider myself as very easy going and social.
I write for a local paper mainly abut feature stories and urban gardening.
Evey day in the morning whether it's sunny or snowing I go for a dip in the canals of Copenhagen together with other winter swimmers. It's very nice way to begin a new day - very refreshing ;-)
It seems as if it's about to become a big thing among young and old people in Copenhagen to swim in the very cold water.
In summertime I enjoy long biking rides. We have biking path all over the country. Therefore it's very easy and safe to explore the unknown ;-)
If you're interested I can show you some interesting places that not many tourists will visit when they are in Copenhagen.
Besides I keep myself involved in a lot of local projects. I suppose I am a very curious person.
As have been a part of Copenhagen Volunteers for several years. I have been a leader of the volunteers. The organization offers free help to public events as staff members.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My home has always been open to people. About 15 years ago I had a neighbour from Italy for 3 months. After she left I met other Italians in Copenhagen. I visited them in Italy. Today we're still in touch.
For a long time I had wanted to be a part of couchsurfing. One of my Danish friends recommended me this society. When I was travelling on the east coast of USA in spring 2013 I had my first experience. I enjoyed staying with local people. It was an eye opener in many senses to share ideas about life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed in Belgium, Germany, Spain, Portugal and USA. I consider myself as experienced. I have met so many nice people. Each of you has made an impact on me in one way or another.
People were generous and extremely friendly. I have become wiser and think the world has become smaller.

Music, Movies, and Books

Listen to different all kinds of music - not much into opera and heavy metal. I think I prefer organic music or lounge like Hotel Costes. I like to read novels about people and their experiences in life. Recently I finished Patrick Modiano (Rue de Boutiques Obscures in french. I also read science books - mostly to learn about myself.
When it comes to movies I am a big fan of Lars von Trier. I like his creativity and filming which seems to have no limits.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I graduated as a journalist in 2011 that's been the most fulfilling experience in my life - so far.

I am probably a bit of a nerd into plants and wildlife. I also like the idea of making people communicate with each other.
