Hi my name is Pieter or Pete,

If I have to summarize myself in 5 words it would be:
Hands-on, friendly, committed and creative ;)

After graduation I wanted to travel and work in Canada. But like many others, covid wouldn't let me leave my bubble. In January 2023 the time had come. What started as a one-year/one-country idea became a world traveling tour which doesn't really seem to have an end. My journey took me from Canada to Australia, to Indonesia, Japan and now New-Zealand.

Since September I have also started as a freelancer working online in different fields. My three greatest passions are: Music, Storytelling and Nature. I'm always in search of combining these three when I'm traveling. Next to this I like to do yoga and meditation to strengthen my core physically and mentally.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Let's be honest traveling can be expensive and coach surfing can be an ideal way to reduce your traveling costs. But that's only one of the few advances. Meeting new people, getting golden information and tips, exchanging stories or food or jokes are only a few of my favourite things about coach surfing.

I have used this platform before in Europe and Indonesia, but it got deactivated because for some years I didn't use it. Now I'm traveling again and feel like doing some surfing again too!

Música, películas y libros

Anything that touches me, I will listen to. But dub and reggae is the music that always moves the most (dancing).
I love Wes Anderson movies, Koen brothers, Hirokazu Kore-eda, Ghibli and the good old fantasy classics.
Bookwise I like: Murakami, Ben Elton, George R.R. Martin, Tolkien, ... True or fiction stories are all good as long as they are interesting, funny and have a lot of imagination.
